My Pinterest Board

  I have made a Pinterest board called MUSE for the name of the magazine ( or at least I think for now that is what I feel my magazine will be titled). On my board I have included a ton (LIKE ALOT) of photos that have a similar vibe and aesthetic that I want my magazine to have. Most photos look very retro and artistic, which is the look I am going for. The photos are also helping me see how some people pose for photos and their set up. Since I don't have a budget to get a studio or anything fancy I am planning on taking the photos outside of my building in my parking lot or out in the streets during daylight hours. I feel like even if I did have studio lights I would not use them anyways. I love how natural lighting looks giving the photos a more natural look rather than artificial.
  On Pinterest I also found a numerous amount of editing tools that I could use for my own pictures. I created a separate section on the board for all those editing techniques where I can look back and see how I could achieve giving my photos a colorful background or tryout different filters to give my images a vintage, 90's feel. I am still contemplating on whether I will change the original background my photos have to a bold color like a deep blue or bright red, but I guess I will have to take the pictures first to figure that out.

FINALLY!!!!! Everything is done and I could not be happier with the results. This process has been a a very long one, but I have learned a lot along the way. I bettered my skill in the editing realm using applications such as, Photoshop, InDesign, and Facetune. I found out what it is like to run a photo shoot and how it is not as glamorous as it seems. Nothing throughout the making of this magazine was easy, but it was all very rewarding to see the final product and watch it all come together as I put each piece together. Table of Contents Plan:

  For my table of contents I feel it will be easier... I hope. When I did my research on W magazine I noticed that their table of contents is usually two pages, so that is what I will be doing. I also will not use much images, due to how table of contents in fashion images usually have 1-4 images. The headlines I will use are going to be similar to the ones W magazine uses ( Fashion + Features, Who"s Next, What's Hot, Beauty, and Departments). What goes under these headlines will be typical things that magazines feature. For instance, " Top 10 accessories" or " "Latest Trends". I plan to include the credits for who took the pictures for each "page" I place on the table of contents. I do not want to make random names or use the same name for each "photographer" so I will use my friends name, since I think they have been so helpful during this process, in the sense that they have helped me narrow down some of my ideas, and I greatly a...

Table of Contents

   I finished my table of contents!!! I honestly thought this would be the easiest, but somehow I managed to take so long trying to make everything look right.I began with laying out the boxes on InDesign of where the photos will be placed and then input my headlines. I then began coming up with more titles to go under the headers other than the ones I already had in mind ( mentioned in my table of contents planning post) . Once I had everything set up I input the pictures and the writing and began just trying to make it proportional and look aesthetic. For the editing in my photos, I did the same process as I did for the images on my feature spread ( Used VSCO to make the images all work together and look cohesive, by adding a filter,changing the brightness, ad grain).
