Official Cover

I THINK I DID IT!!! I finally have a cover for my magazine, and yes I am using the photo that I had originally wanted to use which is fun, The picture still is not the greatest quality, but it is way better than it was before seeing as how before it was pix-elated and now it is not. For my cover I went the more simplistic way with not much anchorage that surrounds it, because the magazine W for the most part has rather simple covers with a a beautiful image, the names of the people featured, and the type of issue it is. I chose mine to be an art issue, due to how W magazine has art issues and I am an artist so, it made sense to me.

The Editing: I managed to not have to change the background on Photoshop, due to how it transferred well on InDesign. The editing I did do though is that I lowered the brightness through my regular camera settings. I felt the need not to use  a filter because with the bright light source in the back the photo originally has like a faded filter look already. I then went to an app called Facetune, which is where I used the detail and sharpness effect to make our faces more visible. I also used an effect called glow, to bring color back to our faces after the use of the other editing tools. On Photoshop I played around further with how to make the background not give such a bright glare and then I was done.

The Process: WOW has this been hard. I woke up and chose the photo that was edited and inserted it to InDesign where I layed it out and then began adding the text, like my magazine title and some headlines ( which I already had many potential headlines on my notes in my phone),  Well after 2 hours of finally finishing my cover and asking my family for validation...it did not save. I wanted to  cry. I literally started to clean and I never do that. SO fast foward a few hours later and I got back on it, found the same fonts I had originally used by comparing it to a photo I had taken (God Bless.)  and saved it TWICE and boom I got my magazine cover.

Here it is:
